IPU CET Mass Communication is the program offered by the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi, conducts various exams for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. IPU CET Mass Communication Exam Pattern 

The IPU CET Mass Communication Test is of 2 hours and 30 minutes. You will come across 150 MCQ questions. For every correct answer 4 marks will be given to you. Negative marking prevails. For each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted from your final score. 

The IPU CET BJMC Test has 4 sections. Their distribution is stated as follows:

This IPU CET Mass Communication exam has diverse questions to be completed within 2.30 hours. So, you need a simple yet strong preparation strategy. 

Overall Preparation Strategy

1. Speed and Accuracy 

While preparing for the IPU CET Mass Communication exam, speed and accuracy should go hand in hand. You’ll have a variety of questions to solve in mere 250 minutes. So, while preparing, you should try and solve the sample questions with good speed, trying to reach the correct answer. 

2. Don’t ‘mug up’ everything

Instead of mugging all the formulas, conceptual clarity is what needs to be focused upon. Quant and reasoning should be the backbone of your preparation. If you are able to get through these subjects in due time efficiency, you are good to go. 

3. Time for each section

Each section of the IPU CET Mass Communication needs proper time – both during preparation and the final attempt. Section-wise Preparation Strategy

1. English Language and Comprehension 

This section of the IPU CET Mass Communication paper will have 37 questions. These will be a mix of reading comprehensions, fillups, sentence corrections plus synonyms and antonyms. The questions related to antonyms can be difficult to attend. But if you have practiced well, you’ll find the comprehension questions moderate. 

Preparation strategy: 

Take up sample papers from various sources to practice. For antonyms, you can take help of the newspaper. Mark 10 new words everyday, know about their meaning, use, antonym and synonym. This will help you in covering a variety of words.

2. General Awareness

This section of the IPU CET Mass Communication will have 38 questions approximately. Topics like polity, history, government projects etc. are covered. If you are aware of famous personalities and awards, you can well answer 5-8 questions. The level overall ranges between easy and moderate. 

Preparation strategy: 

You should make a habit of reading newspapers everyday. Weekly or monthly current affairs from various online sources can be taken up. The Internet is your best friend, when it comes to current affairs preparation. Everything is a click away.

3. Reasoning 

This section of the IPU CET Mass Communication has 37 questions. Overall, the level of difficulty ranges in between easy to moderate. However, 7-8 questions are twisted and difficult. Visual reasoning, number series, percentage, ratio and proportion etc. should be well practiced. 

Preparation strategy: 

Reasoning can be scoring if you have clear concepts. And, you’ll gain concept clarity from regular revision and practice. Everyday, try and devote at least 2 hours to reasoning practice. Also, you can revise whatever is done during the weekdays over the weekend.

4. Media Aptitude 

There will be approximately 38 questions in this section of the IPU CET Mass Communication. The level will be in between easy to moderate. For media aptitude, devoting 1 hour everyday or maybe 2 hours on alternate basis is enough.  

Preparation strategy: 

Don’t look for 10 different sources to practice. Instead, go for one good study material and stick to it for this section’s preparation. You can look for handy exam guides or study materials. The source (online/offline) can be chosen according to personal preference.
