National Council For Hotel Management And Catering Technology (NCHMCT) is the self governing body for coordinated growth and development of hospitality education in the country. NCHMCT was established by Government of India in 1982.

The NCHMCT synchronizes the academics at various institutes that are mentioned below

  • 21 central govt. Sponsored institutes of  hotel management 
  • 25 state government sponsored IHMs that offers diploma and certificate level programs
  • One PSU owned institute
  • 25 private institutions
  • 14 food craft institutes

These educational institutes impart 11 types of professional degrees to their candidates in the form of certificates, diploma , bachelors and masters degree.
