Sri Lanka, Maldives: First two south-east Asian countries to eliminate rubella and measles

World Health Organization (WHO) has announced elimination of rubella and measles from Sri Lanka and Maldives
In doing this, they have successfully become the first two south-east Asian countries under WHO to eliminate both rubella and measles
Quick Fact: The 11 countries in WHO’s South East Asia region are India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Maldives, Myanmar, North Korea, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, and Nepal.

Odisha: First Indian state to use space tech and AI for monitoring government lands

Bhubaneswar Land Use Intelligence System, BLUIS, has been launched to monitor government land in the state using high-resolution satellite imagery
The need arose due to lack of transparency related to encroachment on government land
By nature, BLUIS is a web and mobile-based geo-tagged repository.

ARHCs to be developed for Urban Migrants/Poor under PMAY-U

Cabinet has given approval for development of Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs)
The ARHCs will provide affordable and hygienic housing to urban migrants and poor who have lost their houses in the pandemic.
ARHCs will be a sub-scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U)
