Union Cabinet approves Ratle Hydropower Project
The Union Cabinet recently approved the Ratle Hydropower Project of 850 MW located in River Chenab.
The project is a joint venture of Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation & National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).
The foundation stone to construct the dam was laid by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in 2013.

DPIIT launches Regulatory Compliance Portal
The Dapartment for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) recently launched a regulatory compliance portal.
The portal will increase the ease of doing business & is to act as bridge between industries, citizens and government in minimising burdensome compliances.
It is the first central online repository portal for all state and central level compliances.

Gujarat CM announces ‘horticulture development mission’
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani recently announced the ‘Horticulture Development Mission’ also knows as ‘Bagayat Vikas Mission’.
The main objective of the mission is to double the income of the farmers involved in horticulture and medicinal farming.
Under the mission, the waste land of the State Government of Gujarat is to be provided on a thirty year lease for farming medicinal and horticulture crops.

India’s 1st Labour Movement Museum to be set up in Kerala
The first-of-its-kind Labour Movement Museum in India would be launched in Alapuzzha, Kerala showcasing history of world labour movement.
The museum will portray the growth of world labour movement & the history of Kerala’s labour movement, through pictures, documents & other exhibits.
The New Model Cooperative Society Limited, previously run by the Bombay Company, has been converted into the Labour Movement Museum.

Joe Biden takes oath as 46th US President
Joe Biden became the 46th President of the United States when he swore oath after Kamala Harris, America’s first Woman Vice-President.
Biden is the oldest president in the US history at 78 & the only second Roman catholic president under Barack Obama.
Biden plans to kick-off his tenure with a flurry of 17 orders including immediately joining Paris Agreement, stopping US’s exit from WHO and much more.

Himachal Pradesh launched first online youth radio station
Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Jai Ram Thakur has launched HP’s first online youth radio station ‘Radio Hills- Youngistan Ka Dil’.
The online radio would go a long way in promoting the culture and traditions of the state, besides providing an opportunity to the youth to exhibit their talents.
Deepika and Saurab are the founders of the online youth radio.

India and Singapore sign pact on submarine rescue support
The 5th edition of the Defense Ministers’ Dialogue(DMD) between India & Singapore was successfully held through video conferencing.
During the meeting, the ‘Implementing Agreement on Submarine Rescue Support and Cooperation’ was signed between the two Navies.
The agreement was signed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and his Singaporean counterpart Dr Ng Eng Hen.
