Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puruskar is the Highest Civilian Honour in India given to exceptional achievers under the age of 18.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development had instituted the puruskar in 1996.

China overtakes the US for Foreign Direct Investment

The UN recently announced that China has surpassed the US as the world’s top destination for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the year 2020.

The announcement was made by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

The New Investments by overseas businesses into the US fell by 49 percent in 2020 mainly due to the effects of COVID-19.

Draft policy on Udyog Sahayak Enterprises Network (USENET)

The framework has been established to focus on helping existing MSMEs & providing them a growth-driven service.

The framework would help in creating an additional 10.3 million jobs in 5 years by enabling the scale-up of nano and micro-enterprises.

Finance Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman has launched the ‘Union Budget Mobile App’ ahead of the presentation of Union Budget on February 1, 2021.

The mobile app was launched for hassle-free access of Budget-related documents by Members of Parliament (MPs) and the public.

The Union Budget for the year 2021 will be completely paperless for the first time in the light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Quick Fact: The app has been developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC).

Maharashtra to begin ‘Jail Tourism’

The government of Maharashtra has decided to start a ‘Jail Tourism’ from the Yerawada prison of Pune.

Starting from January 26, 2021, the initiative is being launched to facilitate the people to visit and see historical prisons in the state.

Yerawada is the largest noted high-security jail in the state of Maharashtra and imprisoned several freedom fighters including Mahatma Gandhi, Motilal Nehru, and many more.

Mongolian PM Khurelsukh Ukhnaa & his government resigns

Prime Minister of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa along with his government has resigned following protests and public outrage over the handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 The 52-year-old served as the Prime Minister of Mongolia from 4 October 2017 to 21 January 2021.

Parliament, which is controlled by Khurelsukh’s Mongolian People’s Party, voted overwhelmingly to accept his resignation.

Uttar Pradesh launches ‘Udyam Sarathi App’ for youths

Haridwar teen Shrishti Goswami to be one-day CM of Uttarakhand

Shrishti Goswami, a 19-year-old Haridwar-based student will become the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for one day on National Girl Child Day.      

Shrishti is a student of Bsc Agriculture and lives in Daulatpur village in Roorkee.

The one-day CM will review various schemes run by the state government that include Atal Ayushman Scheme, Smart City project, Homestay Scheme & other development projects.
