Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot launched an initiative, SAGE (Seniorcare Aging Growth Engine), with a portal to support India’s elderly people.
The SAGE portal will act as a ‘one-stop access’ of elderly care products and services by credible start-ups.
This initiative aims to involve youth for elderly care by start-ups and innovative ideas to make elderly care a national movement.

2nd Global Bank to offer ‘SWIFT gpi Instant’ facility: ICICI Bank
ICICI Bank announced their tie up with SWIFT recently.
This partnership will offer a facility to help overseas partner banks to send payments on behalf of their customers to the beneficiary in India.
With this, ICICI Bank became the first bank in Asia-Pacific and second globally to offer the facility, called ‘SWIFT gpi Instant’.

National Green Tribunal nod to Gujarat’s Vishwamitri river project
The Principal Bench of NGT recently directed VMC, Gujarat, and other authorities to implement the Vishwamitri River Action Plan.
This plan includes preparation for demarcation, plantation and maintaining the integrity of the river.
The crocodiles, turtles & highly protected species have been breeding in the stretches of the river.

World’s first CO2 neutral cement plant in Sweden by HeidelbergCement
HeidelbergCement, the world’s second-largest cement maker, planned to convert its Swedish factory in Slite.
This factory would be transformed into the world’s first CO2-neutral cement plant by 2030 via carbon capture technology.
The plant will be able to capture up to 1.8 million tonnes of carbon dioxide per year.

Online portal ‘Bal Swaraj’ for children affected by Covid-19 by NCPCR
The NCPCR devised an online tracking portal for children in need of care and protection in view of COVID-19 effects.
This portal is for children who lost family support and are in need of care and protection under Section 2(14) of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015.
All the procedures given under the Act for such children will be followed to ensure the well-being and best interest of children.

International Day for the Fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing was observed globally on June 5.
According to the UN FAO, illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing activities are responsible for the loss of 11–26 million tonnes of fish each year.
The loss of fish is estimated to have an economic value of US$10–23 billion.
