IPU CET BBA is the entrance exam to BBA program of the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. GGSIPU has one general BBA programme and also provides two BBA programmes with specialisation. The IPU BBA programs are:

  • BBA 
  • BBA ( Banking and Insurance)
  • BBA ( Computer Aided  Management) 

For all these courses, the IPU CET has to be given that has common syllabus for admission to all the three. While going in for counseling and seat allocation, your preference of the course shall be taken. And then if seats are available, you would be given the choice of your course.

Admission or calling for counseling would be strictly on the basis of rank according to your score in the IPU CET BBA entrance. Minimum eligibility for filling up of forms is 50% in standard 12th and you must be passed in the subject of English. 

IPU CET BBA Exam Pattern 

The IPU-CET consists of 150 questions divided into 4 parts as follows.

All the questions are MCQ based and a total of 2.5 hours would be given to you. Please understand that this test would be the online mode. There are 4 marks for a correct answer and 1 mark would be deducted in case of an incorrect answer. Hence it is advised to mark only those answers where you are 100% sure or it might lead to negative marking. Every student prepares using his or her own techniques. However there are some issues that become difficult for everyone alike. The most important thing to keep in mind while preparing the IPU CET BBA is to focus both on analytical as well as verbal abilities as these are quite scoring.

1. Understand the format of the paper

As you already know there are 4 sections to the IPU CET BBA exam. So you must devise a study plan that encompasses all these portions. Try to practice papers and mock tests so that you know where you lack and need to focus. Target your weak areas. Before you start studying, remember that the first step is to let go of cramming. You need to clear your basics. Always start with the 11th and 12th books of NCERT of maths and business studies. Make short notes and revise them.

Tip: Every afternoon attempt at least two mock papers, analyse your performance and the next day prepare these topics well. Then again attempt another paper to know your progress.

2. Plan consistently

There are 4 sections of the paper. Try to plan out your study sessions in such a way that you study 2 sections every day and also practice mock tests daily. Chalk out a plan that works best for you, don’t follow any timetable you find online. Use your weekends to give a full mock. This will ensure that your preparations have a holistic approach. Since IPU CET BBA paper has equal distribution of every section, it is essential to cover all the sections equally. 

Tip : As an example, schedule logical and verbal aptitude on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays followed by business and current affairs on Tuesdays and Fridays.

3. Read current affairs and newspaper daily

Make sure that you give at least an hour or so to current affairs and reading the newspaper. Also devote 15 minutes to revise the previous day’s current affairs as well. This will help you in preparing for the English and General awareness portion of the IPU CET BBA exam. Building this habit is crucial for your preparations. 

4. Become creative, make notes, tables

Preparing notes is vital for your revision. You can also be a little creative and make use of colored pens, highlighters for making mind maps, tables, etc. This will let you revise the important points quickly. This strategy will also let you want to study more effectively and efficiently.

5. Increase your accuracy and speed

This test entails you to solve 100 questions in 2.5 hours. There is also a risk of negative marking, hence it is imperative to increase your speed in attempting the IPU CET BBA exam and at the same time do the questions correctly.

6. Maintain a healthy lifestyle

Be thorough with your preparations but don’t forget to balance your lifestyle in a healthy manner. Sleeping, exercising and eating healthy are just some of the tips that you must include in your daily routine. Also make sure to meditate and spend time with your family to lessen the chances of getting anxiety.

1. English language and comprehension

Try to develop a good command over your English skills by improving your vocabulary and practicing more papers. This section of the IPU CET BBA exam has about 38 questions and you must aim to attempt at least 26-28 questions. The difficulty level is moderate if you have a command over your English.

2. General awareness

The general awareness is a section od the IPU CET BBA exam that many students cannot or do not prepare well. However keep in mind that this section can fetch you maximum marks. There are 37 questions in this section and you must attempt only those that you know really well.

3. Logical and analytical ability

This is basically the numerical and logical portion of the IPU CET BBA exam. It consists of 38 questions ranging from medium to difficult levels. Here you must concentrate on increasing your calculations speed and accuracy.

4. Management and communication skills

This section of the IPU CET BBA exam basically checks your business and communication skills that are quite easy to study. It consists of 37 questions but the difficulty level is a bit high. Nonetheless clear your basics and follow the tips to sail through this section.
