North Eastern States Roads Investment Programme
The North Eastern States Roads Investment Programme was launched in 2011 and aims to build 433 km long roads in 6 northeastern states.
The six states are- Manipur, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, and Sikkim.
The program will improve connectivity in the region and will also control the insurgency.

UAE buys record 80 Rafale jets
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has signed 14 billion Euros of the agreement for 80 Rafale warplanes.
This is the biggest international order ever made for the Rafale jets.
The Rafale jets are to replace the Mirage 2000 fleet of the UAE.

PM Modi to inaugurate Delhi-Dehradun Corridor
PM Narendra Modi is to inaugurate the Delhi-Dehradun corridor along with several other projects.
The corridor will reduce the distance between the two cities from 248 km to 180 km.
The corridor will enhance the Mandola Vihar Yojana of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and also the development of Tronica city.

Earth Station of Doordarshan Kendra inaugurated in Gorakhpur
Union Minister Anurag Thakur and UP CM Yogi Adityanath have inaugurated the Earth Station of Doordarshan Kendra at Gorakhpur.
This is the second earth station of Doordarshan in Uttar Pradesh and it is being built for INR 7 crores.
The Earth station will enable local programs to be telecasted live through DTH across the world.

ADB approves USD 500 million loan to improve quality of school education
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a USD 500 million loan to the Government of India to help improve the quality of the country’s school education.
The loan supports the Integrated Scheme for School Education (Samagra Shiksha) and the new Exemplar School Initiative of MOE.
About 1800 government schools will be transformed into exemplar schools in Assam, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand.

Ratan Tata to get Assam’s highest civilian award
On the occasion of Assam Divas, Assam has decided to accolade Ratan Tata with the ‘Asom Bhaibav’ award.
The highest civilian state award is being awarded to Ratan for his contribution to cancer care.
The Tata Trust in collaboration with the Assam government had decided to set up 19 cancer care units during the ‘Advantage Assam- Global Investment Summit’ in 2018.

Indian Navy Day celebrated on December 4th
In India, December 4 is observed as the National Navy Day every year to celebrate the achievements and role of the naval force to the country.
The theme of Indian Navy Day 2021 is ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’ signifying 50 years of India’s victory in the India-Pakistan war 1971.
Back in 1971, during the Indo-Pakistan war, December 4 was chosen to launch Operation Trident against Pakistan.
