The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MOHUA) has signed an MoU with Zomato to onboard street vendors onto the platform.

This will help street vendors access many more customers online.

The street vendors will be empowered with the PAN and FSSAI.

Quick Fact: The SVANidhi scheme was launched to support the livelihoods of street vendors affected due to COVID-19 lockdown.

India-Bahrain conduct first  JWG meeting in the field of Renewable Energy

The first meeting of the Joint Working Group between India and the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of Renewable Energy was held virtually.

Bahraini delegation was led by H.E. Dr. Abdul Hussain Bin Ali Mirza while the Indian delegation was led by DInesh Dayanand Jagdale.

Both sides underscored the importance of renewable energy in order to meet climate change goals.

Common Yoga Protocol Training Programme by AYUSH Ministry

The protocol developed by a team of leading Yoga gurus & experts is organized by MoA in collaboration with the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY).

Arvind Kejriwal launches ‘Switch Delhi’ campaign

The Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal launched the ‘Switch Delhi’ campaign to promote the use of electric vehicles.

The campaign has been launched with an aim to create awareness about how electric vehicles can help in combating air pollution in Delhi.

Government has issued tenders to set up 100 charging stations in the city and set a target of 25% electric vehicle registration by 2024.

HAL signs agreement with MIDHANI to develop composite raw materials

HAL has signed a MoU with Hyderabad-based Mishra Dhatu Nigam Limited (MIDHANI) for development and production of composite raw materials for use in aerospace.

The MoU was signed during the Aero India 2021 held in Bengaluru.

Composite raw materials are currently imported since there is no equivalent proven Indian approved supplier for these materials.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands becomes first Union Territory to be COVID-19 free

Andaman and Nicobar Islands has become the first Union territory in the country to become COVID-19 free with active cases falling to zero in the islands.

The Health Ministry website reported that the last four infected persons in Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been declared cured.

The UT had reported a total of 4,932 cases and 62 deaths from the virus since the beginning of the pandemic.

Ayesha Azizz becomes India’s Youngest Female Pilot at 25

A 25-year-old Kashmiri woman, Ayesha Aziz has become the youngest female pilot in the country.

She also became the youngest student pilot to get a licence at the age of 15 in 2011.

She underwent training to fly a MiG-29 jet at  Russia’s Sukhoi air base & later graduated in aviation from the Bombay Flying Club, thus obtaining a commercial licence in 2017.
