The countries mainly focused on COVID-19 vaccines, Indo-Pacific, nuclear, space, environment, maritime safety, digital economy, environment, and defense sectors.
The India-France strategic dialogue 2020 was held in Paris.

Union Education Minister inaugurates EDUCON 2020
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ inaugurated the two-day virtual International Akhand Conference EDUCON 2020.
The theme of EDUCON 2020 is: “Envisioning Education for Transforming Youth to Restore Global Peace”
The conference was organized by the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) and the Global Education Research Association (GERA).

Government sets up Control Room to control the spread of Bird Flu
The Department of Animal Husbandry has set up a control room after confirmation of Bird Flu in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, and Himachal Pradesh.
The control room will watch the situation and take stock on a daily basis of the preventive measures undertaken by the respective State Governments.
The control room will also abide by the National Action Plan of Avian Influenza.

Indian-American Raj Iyer becomes U.S. Army’s first CIO
Indian-American Raj Iyer has been appointed as the first Chief Information Officer of the U.S. Army.
Dr. Raj Iyer is one of the highest-ranking Indian-American civilians in the US Department of Defense.
Dr. Iyer holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and had been serving as the Principal Advisor to the Secretary of the Army.

PNB collaborates with IIT Kanpur to set up a Fintech innovation Centre
The Punjab National Bank (PNB) has collaborated with IIT Kanpur & FIRST to set up a Fintech Innovation Centre (FIC) at the institute’s campus.
PNB and IIT Kanpur will jointly work to set up this innovation center as a vehicle for the research and development of technological solutions with the help of FIRST.
The campaign will address challenges and explore opportunities in the Banking, Finance Services and Insurance (BFSI) space.

Government forms committee to preserve language, culture, and land of Ladakh
The Government of India has announced the formation of a committee to protect the language, culture, and land of Ladakh.

The committee will ensure citizen’s participation in Ladakh’s development and analyze the geographical location & strategic importance of the Union Territory.

India will chair three-key subsidiary bodies of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
The three panels are- Counter-Terrorism Committee, Taliban Sanctions Committee & Libya Sanctions Committee.
The announcement was made by India’s Permanent Representative at UNSC, TS Tirumurti.
