INR 499-crore deal signed by Bharat Dynamics Ltd with Indian Air Force

BDL signed a contract with the Ministry of Defence for the manufacture and supply of Akash missiles to the IAF. 

CMD of BDL stated that BDL is supplying Akash Missiles to the Indian Army and Indian Air Force. 

Akash is a medium-range mobile surface-to-air missile (SAM) system, developed under India’s Integrated Guided MDP.

Monetary penalty imposed on 14 banks by RBI for non-compliance

RBI imposed penalties on SBI, Bank of Baroda, IndusInd Bank, Bandhan Bank and 10 other lenders for contravention of various regulatory norms.

The penalty imposed on the 14 banks totals Rs 14.5 crore, with a maximum Rs 2 crore fine on Bank of Baroda.

The central bank imposed Rs 2 crore penalty on the Bank of Baroda, Rs 1 crore each on 12 other banks and Rs 50 lakh on the SBI.

MoU between Axis Bank and Indian Army to offer defence service salary package

Axis Bank signed an MOU with the Indian Army offering a defence service salary package under its ‘Power Salute’ initiative. 

The package would offer different benefits to all ranks of army officers including serving Defence personnel and pensioners.

The bank will offer Personal accidental cover, education grant, Permanent and permanent partial Disability Cover and air accident cover.

46 Kempegowda heritage sites to be developed by Karnataka Govt. in Bengaluru

The Karnataka state government decided to develop 46 Kempegowda heritage sites in a bid to promote tourism. 

According to the Karnataka CM, the sites identified to be in three circuits would be developed at a cost of Rs 223 crore.

These sites would help people acknowledge the contribution of NadaPrabhu Kempegowda, the founding father of Bengaluru.

First passenger train reaches Manipur marking it on India’s railway map

A passenger train, Rajdhani Express, reached Manipur’s Vaingaichunpao railway station from Assam’s Silchar railway station for a trial run.

The train covered the distance of 11 km between the two northeastern stations, with railway officials onboard.

The Vaingaichunpao-Imphal railway line is under construction, and on completion, would be the longest railway tunnel near Imphal.

Manu Sawhney released as CEO from ICC
