Ladakh Becomes First UT To Achieve 100% First Dose Vaccination Coverage
Ladakh has become the first union territory to fully vaccinate its population with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
This was achieved in a period of three months.
While the population of Ladakh is low, the achievement is commendable given the difficult geography of the region.

National Asset Reconstruction Company Becomes a Legal Entity
National Asset Reconstruction Company (NARCL) has become a legal entity after registration with Registrar of Companies, Mumbai.
Considered to be a ‘Bad Bank’, it will be a one-stop solution for banking systems stressed assets.
It will help the government and banks to deal with non-performing assets (NPAs)
Quick Fact: A bad bank is a bank set up to buy the bad loans and other illiquid holdings of another financial institution.

Blue Origin Approved By US For Human Space Travel
United States’ Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved ‘Blue Origin license’ for human space travel
Blue Origin is an American aerospace manufacturer and sub-orbital spaceflight services company.
So far Virgin Galactic, Blue Origin, SpaceX have been working on space tourism, i.e. the travel of civilians into space for recreational purposes.

Euro 2020 Winner: Italy
Italy won its second European Championship trophy by defeating England by 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out in the Euro 2020 final.
The final was held at Wembley Stadium in London.
After their 2006 FIFA World Cup win, this is the first major international trophy won by Italy.

Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra 2021 Begins
In this famous event of Odisha, special chariots are built for three deities – Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Lordess Subhadra.
The yatra is conducted at Jagannath Temple, Puri, one of the Char Dhams of Hindu religion.
It is one of the biggest festivals of India.
Quick Fact: Jagannath Puri Temple was built by Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva in 12th century CE.
