“Mera Ghar Mere Naam” scheme launched in Punjab
Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Cheema launched “Mera Ghar Mere Naam” recently to give ownership rights to the people who are living in houses within the lal lakir of cities as well as villages.
Lal lakir refers to the land which is part of the village habitation and is used for non-agricultural purposes.
The scheme will provide much-needed assistance to all the people including those from the underprivileged and needed strata.

China has successfully tested a nuclear-capable hypersonic missile demonstrating an advanced space capability.
The Chinese military launched the rocket carrying a hypersonic glide vehicle that flew through low-orbit space.
Countries like Russia, China, and the US are developing hypersonic missiles that travel at a speed five times that of sound.

Jonas Gahr Store, the Leader of the Labour Party in Norway has assumed the charge of the PM of Norway.

Indian Army wins gold medal in Cambrian Patrol Exercise 2021
A team from the 5th battalion-4(5/4) Gorkha Rifles representing the Indian Army won the gold medal at the prestigious Cambrian Patrol Exercise 2021.
The event held in the UK witnessed the Indian Army competing with a total of 96 teams including 17 international teams representing Special Forces and prestigious regiments.
The Indian Army was praised for its excellent navigation skills, overall physical endurance, and delivery of patrol orders.

Chennai Super Kings wins IPL 2021
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the finals to win the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) title.
This was the 4th win of CSK in IPL having previously won the tournament in 2010, 2011, and 2018.
The 2021 IPL was the 14th edition of IPL which is an Indian-based cricket league in the 20-20 format.

Russian team returns to Earth after filming their first movie in space.
A Russian film crew is back on Earth after wrapping up scenes for the first movie shot in space.
Klim Shipenko along with actor Yulia Peresild left for the ISS and landed in Kazakhstan where they met a crew filming the touchdown scenes.
The filmmakers had blasted off from Kazakhstan earlier this month, traveling to the ISS with veteran cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov to film scenes for “The Challenge”.

ICC and UNICEF partner to raise awareness on mental wellbeing
The International Cricket Council (ICC) and UNICEF have partnered to raise awareness about mental wellbeing among children and adolescents.
The partnership came ahead of the 2021 Mens’ T20 World Cup in Oman and UAE.
UNICEF and ICC have aimed to break the stigma about mental health and spark conversations throughout the ICC Men’s 2021 World Cup.
