France and Spain sign agreement to build Europe’s Largest Solar Power Plant
Spain and France have signed an agreement to build Europe’s Largest Solar Power Plant: Francisco Pizzaro which will generate 590 MW of solar power.
The agreement was signed between Spanish electric utility ‘Iberdrola’ and French corporation ‘Danone’.
The plant is to be built at a cost of 364 million USD supplying power to over 375,000 people per year.

MeerKAT Radio Telescope discovers two giant radio galaxies
The MeerKAT Radio Telescope recently discovered two giant radio galaxies that are 62 times the size of the Milky Way.
The galaxies discovered under the MIGHTEE survey are bigger than 93% of any giants discovered before.
The MeerKAT Radio Telescope located in the Northern Cape of South Africa is a radio telescope with sixty-four antennas.

BSF launches ‘Operation Sard Hawa’
The Border Security Force recently launched ‘Operation Sard Hawa’ in the Western border of Rajasthan.
The Operation has been launched to enhance security ahead of Republic Day and check instances of infiltration due to dense fog in the region.
BSF is India’s ‘First Wall of Defense’ and was set up in the wake of 1965 Indo-Pakistan war.

Arjun Munda launches ‘ShramShakti’ portal
The Union Minister of Tribal Affairs, Arjun Munda recently launched a National Migration Support Portal ‘ShramShakti’ at a virtual event in Panjim, Goa.
The portal will help the government in smooth formulation of state and national level programs for migrant workers.
ShramShakti portal will address the data gap and empower migrant workers who migrate in search of employment, linking them with welfare schemes under ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat’.
