First merger of two black holes with unequal masses detected
The gravitational wave observatories at LIGO scientific collaboration have detected a merger of two unequal-mass black holes.
The merging black holes were about 30 and 8 times the Sun’s mass
This observation is another proof of Einstein’s theory of general relativity.

11th Session of Petersberg Climate Dialogue held
The session included India and 30 other countries deliberating over ways to reinvigorate economies and societies after COVID-19, while balancing the need for climate action and support to the most vulnerable.
The Dialogue has been hosted by Germany since 2010 as a forum for discussion of high-level climate-related political discussions.

Axis Bank to acquire 29% stake in Max Life Insurance
This move will raise Axis Bank’s total holding in the life insurer to 30 per cent after the completion of the deal
Max Financial Services will hold the remaining 70 per cent in the joint venture
Thus, Max Life would become a 70:30 joint venture after the deal.
