MeitY launches India’s first Quantum Simulator Tookit ‘QSim’
The Ministry of Electronics and Information technology (MeitY) has launched India’s first ‘Quantum Computer Simulator (QSim) Toolkit.
QSim is a vital tool for learning and understanding the practical aspects of programming with the help of Quantum Computers.
The toolkit has been developed jointly by the scientists of IIT Roorkee, C-DAC, and IISc Bangalore with the support and funding of MeitY.

RBI to launch Trial Project of Digital Currency by December 2021
According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das, RBI is set to launch the trial program of its digital currency by December 2021.
Currently, RBI is working on bringing its Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) in a phased manner.
CBDC is a type of virtual currency which is issued by the Central Bank and is a digital version of paper currency notes.

Government launches new registration mark under Bharat Series (BH-Series)
The Government of India has introduced a new registration mark under the Bharat Series (BH-Series) for new vehicles.
The new registration mark was launched to facilitate the seamless transfer of vehicles.
Vehicles with this registration mark will not require the assignment of any new registration mark when the owner of the vehicles shift from one state to another.
India-Germany conduct Joint Exercise in Gulf of Aden
Navies of India and Germany conducted a joint exercise in the Gulf of Aden recently.
Frigate ‘Trikand’ from the Indian Navy exercised with the German frigate called ‘Bayern’.
The exercise between both the navies in the Indian Ocean leg of the Indo-pacific Deployment 2021 enhanced the interoperability and facilitated the exchange of best practices between them.

India elected to CA and POC of the Universal Postal Union
India has won the elections for the membership of two key bodies of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) during the 27th UPU Congress in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
India got elected to the Council of Administration (CA) with 134 votes out of 156 countries and received the highest votes in CA elections from South Asia and the Oceania region.
India has also been elected to the Postal Operations Council (POC) with 106 votes.

G20 Ministerial Conference on Women’s Empowerment held in Italy
The first-ever G20 Ministerial Conference on Women’s Empowerment was held at Santa Margherita Ligure, Italy in hybrid mode.
The Union Minister of Women & Child Development, Smriti Irani addressed the meet on behalf of India reaffirming the country’s commitment towards tackling gender and women-centric issues through cooperation.
The conference acknowledged the shared responsibilities to advance the goals of equality as well as the development of women in all spheres including STEM, Financial and Digital Literacy, Environment, and Sustainability.

BPR&D in collaboration with AICTE launch a National Hackathon named ‘MANTHAN-2021’
The Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched a unique National Hackathon named ‘MANTHAN 2021’.
The objective of the hackathon is to identify innovative concepts and technology solutions for addressing the security challenges of the 21st century.
The Hackathon will be held under 6 themes for 20 different challenge statements using new technologies like AI, Deep Learning, Augmented Reality, Machine Learning among others.

Sonu Sood to be the brand ambassador of ‘Desh Ke Mentors’ program by Delhi Government
CM of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal has announced that Bollywood actor Sonu Sood will be the brand ambassador of the Delhi Government’s ‘Desh Ke Mentors’ program.
The program involves adopting one to ten government school students who can be mentored by citizens who are successful in their respective fields.
The mentors will take out 10 minutes every week to guide students over the phone under the program.
