Dhaka hosts the Study in India 2022 meeting.

Dhaka, Bangladesh, hosted the two-day Study in India (SII) 2022 seminar. Bangladesh’s Education Minister, Dr Dipu Moni, and India’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Vikram Doraiswami, jointly opened the event organised by the High Commission of India. 

Bangladesh’s Education Minister stated that educational exchanges between the two countries will boost the two countries’ amicable relations. 

She stated that it is the role of today’s students to discover solutions to common concerns such as poverty in South Asian countries.

The Hoegh Giant, India’s first FSRU, will dock in Jaigarh Terminal in 2022.

India’s first floating storage and regasification unit has arrived at H-Jaigarh Energy’s Maharashtra terminal (FSRU). 

After sailing from Singapore’s Keppel Shipyard, the FSRU Höegh Giant landed in Maharashtra’s Jaigarh Terminal on April 12, 2021. 

This will be India’s first FSRU-based LNG receiving terminal, as well as Maharashtra’s first LNG plant that will be operational all year. 

Quick Fact: The Höegh Giant can hold 1,70,000 cubic metres of water and can regasify 750 million cubic feet per day.

Sanjiv Kapoor has been chosen CEO of Jet Airways until 2022.

Jet Airways has named Sanjiv Kapoor as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Kapoor previously served as the president of Oberoi Hotels and as the chief operating officer of SpiceJet as well as the chief strategy and commercial officer of Vistara. 

For three years, he was the Chief Strategy and Commercial Officer of Vistara Airlines, and for two years, he was the Chief Operating Officer of SpiceJet.

Mithali Raj has became the first woman to play in six Cricket World Cups.

Mithali Raj, the Indian women’s cricket captain, has become the first woman to play in six World Cups. After Sachin Tendulkar and Javed Miandad, she is the only cricketer to have played in six World Cups. 

She has competed in the ICC women’s cricket world cup in the years 2000, 2005, 2009, 2013, 2017, and 2022. 

Quick Fact: The ICC women’s cricket world cup will be held in New Zealand in 2022.

The NMCG has given Ganga rejuvenation a ‘Special Jury Award.’

At the 7th India Industry Water Conclave and the 9th edition of the FICCI Water Awards, the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) received the ‘Special Jury Award.’ 

The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) has been recognised for its efforts in rejuvenating the Ganga River and bringing about a paradigm shift in water management. 

The 9th edition of the FICCI Water Awards was held virtually on March 02 and 03, 2022, during the FICCI’s 7th India Industry Water Conclave.
