The Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication (BJMC) is one of the most reputed and preferred courses that impart knowledge about the media industry. This course is an under-graduation degree. BJMC course duration is of 3-years. During the BJMC course, two aspects of communication are covered, i.e., Journalism and Mass Communication.

The journalism aspect of this course aims to impart knowledge about print and electronic media. The day-to-day information and current affairs are part of this aspect. The second aspect of this course is Mass communication aims to train the students for different aspects including storytelling. About BA Mass Communication

Bachelors of Arts in Mass Communication is an under-graduation course that is specialized for mass communication only. The duration of this course is 3-years. BA in Mass Communication is designed to impart knowledge about Mass communication. In this mass communication course, all constituents of this aspect are covered. This includes newspaper, radio, TV, etc.  The theoretical and practical knowledge of the media industry is imparted through this course.

1. Eligibility Criteria

For any under-graduation or post-graduation course, a candidate needs to fulfill a criterion. This is true in the case of these two courses as well. The eligibility criteria for both the courses shares some similarities and have some difference. Here are the details for the same:

  • For both the courses, a candidate needs to have an aggregate score of a minimum of 50% in the 12th board examination. The 12th board examinations can be in any stream, and they should be from a recognized board of education.
  • However, many colleges take entrances for these two courses while some take admission on a merit basis. These entrance tests may vary as per college and the courses.

2. Admission Process

In under-graduation courses, there are two types of admission process which include Entrance and Merit-based admission.
